Where there is sun, there is SUNFOREST solar panel.

Xiamen Haissen SEAFOREST Perovskite PV + Storage Integration Case Study (Zhumadian, Henan, China)
From “Too much power – should we remove the panels?” → “Feed surplus electricity into the grid”

Project overview: 187 kW installed capacity, daily generation 970 kWh, peak output over 190 kW (exceeding rated value). The customer once considered removing some panels, but ultimately chose to feed surplus power into the grid.

1. Why does peak output exceed the rated value?
The rated value is based on standard test conditions (STC) of 1000 W/m² and 25°C. In actual outdoor conditions, solar irradiance can briefly exceed 1000 W/m². Additionally, perovskite has an extremely low temperature coefficient, and with AR anti‑reflective coating encapsulation, the peak output exceeds the rated value by 1–3%. Actual power generation is 10–15% higher than laboratory data.

2. Why is there surplus electricity?
Zhumadian is classified as a Class III solar resource zone in China. For crystalline silicon, the average daily equivalent full‑load hours are about 4.3–4.5 hours, whereas in this project the measured value is 5.19 hours per day – 15–20% higher. Reasons: low temperature coefficient, excellent low‑light response, and AR gain. Annual power generation is approximately 354,000 kWh, with annual electricity sales revenue of about 115,000 RMB, and total annual benefits of 200,000–250,000 RMB.

3. Why choose grid connection instead of removing the panels?
Removing the panels would permanently lose future annual revenue. Grid connection, on the other hand, allows sustainable monetization for 10–20 years. The difference over ten years exceeds 1 million RMB. SEAFOREST proposed the “self‑consumption + surplus feed‑in” model. The customer agreed and completed the grid connection.

4. SUNFOREST product line
① Flexible modules
1.7 mm ultra‑thin, weight 1/10–1/5 of conventional modules. Sizes from 300×300 mm up to 1600×1000 mm (1.0 mm thickness also available). Power output 8.5 W – 315 W, efficiency up to 21%, IP68 protection rating, resistant to 25 mm hail.

② Rigid glass modules (IEC certified)

③ BIPV
Power‑generating stone, curtain walls, solar roof tiles, industrial roofs. Customizable.

④ Tandem modules
Lab efficiency 28.1%, theoretical maximum 50%, size 2406×1156 mm.

5. Export track record
① Nagoya, Japan: 10 W perovskite panels (300×300 mm) × 10 pcs – sample testing
② Tokyo, Japan: 10 W perovskite panels (300×300 mm) × 10 pcs – sample testing
③ Malaysia: 0.2 W perovskite panels (50×50 mm) × 30 pcs – sample testing
④ Malaysia: 1.2 W perovskite panels (100×100 mm) × 20 pcs – for tandem panel prototyping

Japanese customers include power grid companies, chemical manufacturers, and leading trading houses – they continuously purchase samples for testing. Malaysian customers have purchased samples for tandem panel prototyping.

6. Summary
Surplus electricity is a burden if unused, but becomes income when sold. The only difference is the grid connection procedure.

For commercial, industrial, and park‑level distributed PV projects, perovskite modules – thanks to their low temperature coefficient, excellent low‑light response, and AR anti‑reflective gain – often generate more electricity than originally designed. When facing “too much power”, the “self‑consumption + surplus feed‑in” model is the optimal solution to maximize asset returns.
